Things to Know Click to View
- All prices on this page include GST.
- Payments are to be made by Direct Debit or Credit Card.
- Only download data is calculated, upload data is free!
- 30 days notice of cancellation is required in writing.
- The data rates available to a particular ADSL customer are affected by many factors, and some by quite significant amounts. These include:
- The length of copper wire from the exchange.
- The number of, and type of, other services being used over copper pairs in the same cable by other customers.
- The configuration and line quality of the copper wire pair between the exchange and the customer’s premises.
- Electrical interference from outside sources (such as electric motors).
- The configuration of the copper wiring within the customer’s premises.
- The software configuration and application on the customer’s computer (in particular how it uses the uplink back to the exchange) .
- The customer’s hardware or modem.
- The capacity of, load on, and access data rate of the destination host computer which the customer is accessing.
- Download quota is the amount of data you may download in any given month. Any unused data is forfeited at the end of that billing month. For the purpose of calculation, 1GB = 1000MB.
- If you wish to downgrade your plan (to a plan of lesser value and/or included data) there is a fee of $20 for each downgrade. If you are currently receiving any discounts or promotions you will lose them on downgrade.
- Should you have a rented Telstra handset, you are required to return it or you will be charged a $50 fee for purchase in the first month.
- Applications which are cancelled after processing has commenced, but before the order has been submitted to our wholesaler are subject to a fee of $100. Cancellation requests received after the order has been lodged with our wholesaler will be subject to standard cancellation fees and conditions.
- Naked ADSL2+ services take approximately 14-20 working days to provision.
- Early disconnection fee applies of $300 pro-rata. For example, if you cancel your contract 9 months into a 12 month contract may have to pay a termination fee of $300 x 3/12 (where 3 is the number of months left to run on the contract, divided by 12 months) = $75.
- Customers will lose their landline telephone number and telephone service (including any services associated with the line, such as Voice Mail, Caller ID, Fax Duet etc). If you wish to keep these, we would recommend signing up for our Bundled ADSL2+ Services.
- Naked ADSL2+ services cannot dial out in case of emergency and dialing 000 will not work on the service. If you require a landline for emergencies we recommend signing up for our Bundled ADSL2+ Services.
- Naked ADSL2+ is a data-only line and cannot be used for incoming and outgoing calls via your normal landline. As such, monitored alarms or fax machines will not work.
- Existing customers wishing to move to Naked ADSL2+ from our ADSL2+ with Home Phone product (within contract) will be required to pay the early termination costs for the home phone i.e. $149 pro-rata for Comcen Telephony. By moving to Naked ADSL2+ you will be required to recontract for a minimum of 12 months. Fees are as follows: $99 for a 12 month agreement, $49 for a 24 month agreement. Furthermore, if the customer has received any discounts or special offers they would be required to pay these back.
- Existing customers wishing to move to Naked ADSL2+ from our ADSL1 service with Home Phone product (within contract) will be required to pay early termination costs for the home phone i.e. $149 pro-rata for Comcen Telephony. If you upgrade within the first 6 months of your minimum term, a fee of $99 applies, in addition to the ADSL2+ line activation fee. If you upgrade after the first 6 months of your minimum term and are still within your minimum term, a fee of $49 applies, in addition to the ADSL2+ line activation fee. Existing customers on ADSL1 must recontract for a minimum 12 months. Line activation fees are as follows: $99 for a 12 month agreement, $49 for a 24 month agreement. Furthermore, if the customer has received any discounts or special offers they would be required to pay these back.
- For the "Convert Service" activation type, customers must ensure their phone line is supplied by Us, Telstra or a Telstra Reseller (you may need to contact your Voice Provider to confirm).
- If you have an existing ADSL2+ service with a provider that does not use Optus Infrastructure or Optus DSLAM, you must disconnect this service first before you can apply for a Naked ADSL2+ service. If you are unsure, you may submit an application and we will notify you if that is the case. Alternatively, if you are connected to Optus Infrastructure/DSLAM you must select the "Churn Service" activation type.
- Complex services are not compatible on this service. Examples include fax-duet, rotary function and secondary numbers on the primary line. If this is the case you would need to have them removed with your voice provider.
- A Naked ADSL2+ service is exempt from the CSG (Customer Service Guarantee) scheme as there is no telephony service to port. By agreeing to the terms and conditions you agree to waive your CSG rights.
- Mobile and International Calls are charged per 30 seconds on VoIP.
- VoIP is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
- Unused bonus VoIP credit cannot be rolled over to the following month (Naked ADSL2+ plans before 02/10/09).
- Free VoIP credit expires after your contract has finished (Naked ADSL2+ plans before 02/10/09).
- 1300/13 numbers are not included in the free VoIP credit per month (Naked ADSL2+ plans before 02/10/09).
- Naked ADSL2+ plans with VoIP require the addition of a $9.95 monthly VoIP Pack charge. The VoIP Pack includes Unlimited Local and National calls. Standard call charges apply for other calls as can be seen in the VoIP Call Rates table.
- Comcen provides no guarantee that the DID number allocated will be a local call for third party callers in your area. This must be confirmed with the third party's voice carrier.
- If you cancel the Service before the minimum Term ends, you must pay back any discounts or special offers you received to sign up for that Term.
