I rent a handset from Telstra, will I now be paying Comcen for that?

Yes. If you are renting a handset from Telstra and wish to keep it, we will charge you the same rental fee you are paying now. The only exception is if you sign up for ADSL2+. If you do not return this to Telstra, we will be charged $50 for the purchase of the handset, which we will on charge to you. Then it is yours to keep. You can return this handset to Telstra at no charge at a Telstra store. If you need a new handset, you can purchase them from electronics stores for around $30.
